Step back in time on beautiful Mackinac Island, known as "America's Summer Place," where horse-drawn carriages and bicycles replace cars. Enjoy three memorable days with accommodations at the iconic Grand Hotel, famous for its charm and historic elegance. We'll explore the island landmarks by carriage, ride along the scenic coastline, browse unique shops and galleries, and sample the island's famous fudge. Off the island, we'll discover America's automotive story at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, tour the Ford family Estate, stroll through historic Greenfield Village, and visit the Frankenmuth car show. This tour is a perfect blend of history, scenery, and classic Americana!

Day 1 – September 9
Flight SLC to Detroit landing at 11:30 am.
We will board our motorcoach and after lunch we will have a private tour of the beautiful Home and Gardens of Henry Ford’s son Edsel & Eleanor Ford at Grosse Point Shores. We will marvel at the beauty of this area.
After a wonderful dinner we will check in to our Hotel in Dearborn MI.
Day 2 – September 10
Today we will spend the day at Greenfield Village in Dearborn. Take in the open-air living history museum featuring 100 historic buildings, such as Thomas Edison’s Menlo Park laboratory, The Wright Brothers bicycle shop and the courthouse where Abraham Lincoln practiced law. Ride in a Model-T Ford, and the Villages own Locomotive that tours the venues beautiful buildings and landscapes.
Day 3 – September 11
Spend the Morning at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Explore historical sites and exhibits such as the
Limousine of JFK, Rosa Parks bus, Abraham Lincolns chair from Ford Theatre, and many other historic Automobiles.
In the Afternoon we will depart for a drive to Saginaw Michigan.
Dinner will be a BIG surprise!
Day 4 – September 12
Today we will visit Frankenmuth known as little Bavaria. A unique shopping at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, the worlds largest Christmas store with over 50,000 Trims, Gifts, and Ornaments. Visit the replica of the Silent Night Chapel where the song Silent Night was first sung in 1818.
The rest of the day will be spent on Main Street in Frankenmuth where you can visit its unique shops. We will experience Family Style German cuisine at the Bavarian Inn.
One of the highlights of the day will be the Frankenmuth Auto Fest featuring thousands of vintage modified and classic vehicles.
Day 5 – September 13
We will drive to Mackinaw City on the shores of Lake Huron and take a Ferry ride to charming Mackinac Island, a place where the horse is king, and the streets have been car-free for over 100 years. It is a place where life moves at the clip-clop pace of a carriage, and
where the noise of the day-to-day life is silenced by the delightful ding of a leisurely bicycle bell.
Our Accommodations while on Mackinac Island will be at the Famous Grand Hotel which was used for the filming of “Somewhere in time” with Jane Semour and Christopher Reeve. Our stay here will truly unforgettable.
Day 6 – September 14
Today we will take a narrated horse drawn carriage tour. We will have a Legendary Buffet luncheon experience at the Grand Hotel.
The rest of the day is yours to explore the beautiful sites of the Island. Mackinac is famous for its plethora of shops and fudge. Rent a bike and discover the island on two wheels.
Day 7 – September 15
Spend a leisurely morning, as we prepare to say goodbye to the unforgettable beauty and ambiance of the Island.
We will ferry back to Mackinaw City and drive along the shores of Lake Huron, featuring stunning lighthouses along The Sunrise Coast Route 23, as we return to Saginaw.
Day 8 – September 16
Drive from Saginaw to Detroit Airport, where we will take an afternoon flight back to Salt Lake City.
