Join Premier Tours for our flagship LDS Church History Tour, a 14-day journey through the most sacred sites of the Restoration and some of America's most treasured historic landmarks. Walk where Joseph Smith and the early Saints lived, taught, and sacrificed as you visit Sharon, Harmony, Palmyra, the Sacred Grove, Kirtland, Nauvoo, Carthage Jail, Liberty Jail, Independence, and more. As we celebrate American history, you'll also explore Washington, D.C., Gettysburg, Springfield, Illinois, and Niagara Falls, creating a unique blend of faith, history, and patriotism.
This carefully planned tour includes deluxe motorcoach transportation, quality accommodations, guided sightseeing, special guest educators, unique dining experiences, and unforgettable highlights such as the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls and dinner with an Amish family in Indiana. Day 1- June 14
After our flight, we board our Motor Coach and meet our driver.
Day 2- June 15
Visit Lincoln Monument, The Vietnam, Korean, WWII Memorials, and Arlington Cemetery. Enjoy a brief bus tour to see the
Capital, White House and Washington Monument. We will learn of the significant Church history which occurred in Washington, D.C.
Day 3- June 16
Meet our professional guide and tour the hallowed Civil War Battlefield, Gettysburg. Visit the Battlefield Museum and historically acclaimed Cyclorama. Then off to the Hershey Chocolate Factory in Hershey, PA.
Day 4- June 17
Visit the Priesthood Restoration Site and Visitor’s Center; Joseph and Emma’s first home; the McKuen Cemetery nearby and the Susquehanna River. We travel to New Hampshire.
Day 5- June 18
You will have a lovely experience in Sharon, Vermont, Birthplace of Joseph Smith. You will see the beautiful area of rural Vermont. Enjoy a delightful lunch in the quaint New England village of Woodstock, VT.
Day 6- June 19
We begin our day traveling through up-state New York’s Finger Lakes Area. It will be a breathtaking sire to see Lake Skaneateles.
We visit the quiet, peaceful site of the Peter Whitmer Farm and cabin where the Church was organized. In the afternoon we’ll see the Martin Harris home, Palmyra Temple and the Erie Canal.
Day 7- June 20
We will visit the sacred Grove and attend Sacrament Meeting in a Palmyra Ward. We’ll visit the E.B. Grandin Print Shop where the Book of Mormon was printed. We will see the smith home & cabin, the Hill Cumorah, Monument and Visitors’ Center.
Day 8- June 21
Today we have a very early start so we can enjoy the majestic Niagara Falls, American Side, and take an exciting ride to the falls on the boat, The Maid of The Mist. Then we travel along the shores of Lake Erie.
In Kirtland, Ohio, we tour the Kirtland Temple with LDS missionaries; see the home of Joseph and Emma Smith then visit Historic Kirtland Sites.
Day 9- June 22
You will experience a wonderful time visiting the Isaac Morley Farm and then the John Johnson Farm.
We travel to Shipshewana, Indiana where we will enjoy a scrumptious Amish dinner. Yum!!
Day 10- June 23
We will see beautiful farms and countryside as we enjoy the day in Shipshewana, Indiana. You will have the day for your personal choices of activities (leisure, resting, shopping, Essenhaus Village Shops and the General Store, Flea-Market, maybe even and Amish carriage ride).
Day 11- June 24
We will travel to Illinois and have an unforgettable experience as we visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Tomb in Springfield, Illinois. See the mighty Mississippi River!
Day 12- June 25
This morning, we will visit the Carthage Jail and then on to Nauvoo! We will visit Joseph and Hyrum’s grave site, Red Brick Store, Parley Street/Trail of Hope and Nauvoo Visitor’s Center. Watch Sunset on the Mississippi play.
Day 13- June 26
You will have time to see homes of early Church leaders such as Brigham Young, John Taylor and Lucy Mack Smith’s home, affectionately call the “Doll House”. Also Browning Gun Shop, Brick Yard and more!
You may enjoy a wagon ride through Nauvoo or a carriage ride back in time with narrations of stories of early Nauvoo.
After lunch, we have blocked out time to attend the 1:00 session at the Nauvoo Temple for those who desire to attend. For those not attending, we will provide transportation and suggest other activities.
Day 14- June 27
Sacrament Meeting in Keokuk. Another great day planned as we visit Adam-Ondi-Ahman and Far west.
Learn the history and future of these sights for our Church. Enjoy Kansas City Barbeque and our Premier Awards Evening.
Day 15- June 28
Independence LDS Visitor’s Center, Temple Lot, Community of Christ Temple site (RLDS) concluding with a visit to the Liberty Jail-a humbling experience. Travel to the airport and return home.
